Hi and thank you for visiting Happily Hafsa.
My name is Hafsa and I’m on a journey to become stronger, leaner, faster and most importantly, healthier. I’m a wife and a mom of 2 boys and I run a couple of entrepreneurial adventures from home. If you want to learn more about me, you can check out my custom baby quilts and gifts at Princes & Fairies Baby Boutique, my faith-inspired greeting cards at Gilded Rickshaw and my website design right here at Designed by Lumiére.
In August 2016, I was 75 lbs overweight and deeply unhappy with how I looked and felt. I had a LONG way to go to get healthy and I just felt like at this point in my life, there was no hope or a way to get back to being a healthy individual. While I was busy with my businesses and my family, I had let myself go and that didn’t feel good. It just felt like it was too late to do anything about it.
I want to tell whoever is reading this- I was wrong. There is ALWAYS a chance to turn your life around. As long as you’re alive, you have a chance to change things so please, don’t ever tell yourself it’s not possible.
This blog is all my passions, united in one place. A big part of getting healthy for me was using my Instant Pot and I share favorite recipes here with those who’d like to cook more at home. At the same time, I’ve always been passionate about makeup and beauty and I share tips and tricks I’ve discovered to manage my busy life while still looking well put-together.
I want to share my journey towards becoming healthier, both physically and mentally, with you because I KNOW there are moms out there who feel that they’re just always going to be overweight and unhappy, that there’s just no time or opportunities in their lives to get back to being healthy, fit, productive and attractive. I was one of those moms. I have a husband who travels 4 days a week, 2 kids who are my sole responsibility and no family nearby to pitch in to help. I also know that there are barriers to getting active that go beyond time constraints such as finding the right workout clothes, the right shoes, pain in your back, knees, etc. Sometimes, these barriers together feel insurmountable but together, we can work our way through them.
It’s an overused statement but truly, “where there is a will, there is a way.” A healthy, happy, confident you is the BEST gift you can give your family. If even one person reads this blog and feels inspired and motivated to change, it would mean the world to me.
I close with the words of my favorite poet, and wish you a beautiful, healthy and active day!
“Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love.” – Rumi
